Falling Leaves

I got my hair trimmed this morning, and while I was there a few of us gals were talking about how the leaves are falling this year before they even show us their colors. Some are falling green or turning brown, then falling. My sweet gums, which normally have the brightest colors of any trees around, are just beginning to turn red around the edges. I wonder if it's because we haven't had rain for so long. Or maybe it's because we're overly anxious and the're just not ready yet.

Whatever the case, I sure could use a few of those gorgeous Indian Summer days. It's not bad here today, at 60 degrees, but you know how I love the 80s! (The temps, not the decade!)

I'm taking a felting class at a yarn shop 40 minutes away and I'm knitting a totebag. Here's what it looks like so far:

I'm using Manos del Uruguay wool in color 100 which is a bit darker than it looks here. It's a nice "autumn leaf" blend of colors. I'll keep adding photos of my progress so you can see how it's going. This is my first felting project and I can hardly wait to see how it turns out! Unfortunately, I'm running out of yarn so a trip to the yarn shop is scheduled for tomorrow. I'm making a list... could get expen$ive!!!

This is a real cute site - keeping in theme with everything that you do classy!

I am admiring the leaves changing, not so much where I live, they stay green along the lake until the Gails of November take 'em down, but inland a bit. Lots of rust and bright yellow. I hope I am planning my trip to PA just right so I can see spectacular color against the mountains.

I want to see the finished 'felt' project! So far, looks like a 'Tiny Tote'... ;)

XOXO Thanks for thinking of me,
Sincerely,
GP
