Piratey Rum & Wine Bottle Cozies

I designed these for the boat to prevent the bottles from clanking together while sailing. Here are the (very basic) instructions. Make a few of your own!

Protect your grog while sailing the seven seas!

I used Patons Classic Merino yarn in black, winter white, and light gray, and US #7 double-pointed needles.

The Pusser’s Rum Cozy:
I cast on 64 sts and knit 56 rows, then decreased every-other row like you would for a hat. The skull & crossbones were added using duplicate stitch. Felted heavily to fit a Pusser’s Rum bottle.

The Cabernet Cozy:
I cast on 48 sts and knit until it was 8 inches tall, incorporating a fair-isle design (which was modified from the We Call Them Pirates chart to fit over 48 sts). Bottom decreases were done every-other row like you would for a hat. Lightly felted to fit a cabernet sauvignon bottle.
