An open letter

Dear Nice Young Podiatrist,

I apologize for not believing in you, and for not trusting you, solely based on your age. I was wrong. You knew what you were talking about and correctly diagnosed my problem. I know you saw the doubt in my eyes when you said a shot would heal me, and I think you took some pleasure in giving me that extremely painful shot in the bottom of my pinkie toe, but I don't begrudge you that small bit of satisfaction after the way I talked about you. My toe is almost completely healed now, just like you said it would be. You were right and I am sorry I doubted you.

I cancelled my follow-up appointment with you for today because you said I could if my foot was better and it certainly is. But rest assured that if I ever have another foot issue, I will call.

Sincerely,
Carol
