I love the 80's

Not the decade, the temps! It was a glorious 82 degrees yesterday which, in my opinion, is the perfect temperature. And it's almost as warm today. This weather is such a welcome change from the *SNOW* we had just a week ago. Today I made a point of going out on the deck with my audiobook, iced tea, and knitting and just relaxed for a while, till the sky darkened and the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance drove me indoors. Looks like we're in for a storm.

A female downy woodpecker has been visiting the birdfeeder every day for nearly a week. I assume there's a male nearby too, but I haven't seen him yet.

This picture cracks me up. I was able to take 6 shots before she flew away. In the other 5 her head is blurry because she was furiously jabbing it in the hole as if she was pecking a tree. But in this photo, her pose is so perfect that every time I look at it I think it looks like I stuck a fake bird out there and snapped a pic. I swear the bird is real!

Most of the flowers on the bushes are gone, but the miniature lilacs are just starting to bloom. I can't wait for them to open more so I can cut a few sprigs and bring them indoors. There is nothing better than the scent of fresh lilacs!

The hubby asked what I wanted for Mother's Day and I didn't hesitate in answering. I recently found this pattern for a cute raglan cardi and asked if he would buy my yarn. He said yes - What a guy! Of course, he has no idea what it cost yet (since he's a 'you buy it and I'll pay you back' kind of guy).

I'm using Noro Kureyon #134. I'll post pictures of my progress. I haven't made a sweater in nearly 7 years (yikes!) but this will be fun to make and oh, so colorful! Wish me luck!

I love the nature shots. I can appreciate the appreciation for the warmer temperatures. Count 'em - THREE nice, make it FOUR nice days in a row ~ almost makes you want to believe one can put away the bulky Winter clothes (but I know better).

The sweater will be a beauty - that style with your chosen colors. Can't wait to see the progress and ultimately it being modeled.
