The Jimi Hendrix Entrelac Experience

I signed up for an entrelac class at my LYS and we're using the 3 Bags Fulled pattern from Knitability and Lamb's Pride worsted weight yarn. The first of three 2 hour classes was last night.

It's interesting to see what colors everyone chose for their bags because many of us have at least one color in common. For example, the lady to my left started her bag with the same violet color I chose for the center row of mine, and two other ladies had the same light brown - one for her starting row of squares and the other for her second. I'm sure they're all going to look amazing, and it's fun to compare color schemes and see what everyone came up with.

Anyway, back to the pattern. The first two rows were confusing, but by the time I left the class I had my 3 base squares and 6 'tier 1' squares completed.

Nutmeg is not impressed with my mad entrelac skillz

I was miles ahead of the other 5 ladies *har-har* and since LOST wasn't on for some reason last night {GRRR} I kept knitting. I was able to finish the first tier and started the second tier without any problem. Yay for me! The pattern is poorly written and extremely confusing, but it was easy to see where the next section should go, so it must be sinking in. By the time I went to bed last night I had this much done, and it's kinda-sorta starting to look like a bag! I'm going to work on it a lot today since Dave is on a "business trip" in Scottsdale, AZ and I don't see why I should have to do any housework while he's in MY favorite US city yucking it up on the golf course!

Oh, and Jimi Hendrix was not included in the class in any way, shape, or form, but we did question whether or not the person who wrote the pattern was on drugs at the time. *ha*

Very, very nice! Can't wait to see the finished purse. Hmmm... what color-combo would I like... (See if you can take a picture of everyone's together to see how the color choices turned out!)
