Missed the mark

Well they can't all be winners now, can they?

This one is my Autumn Leaf Hat. It started out differently ~ striped, but with one leaf on an intarsia-ed patch of green. Now I've never done intarsia before but I understand the basic concept. Intarsia in the round, however, makes my brain hurt. It just wasn't happening, so I put the leaf in over the stripes. Big mistake.


This hat I'll call Spring Leaves. It was an attempt to correct what I did in the previous hat, but one leaf didn't seem like enough so I went for 7.


If you wear it with two leaves centered over your eyes they resemble horns. Not a good look for most people.

But I got the yarn on sale so these two losers only cost $3.50 to make, and for that much it was worth experimenting. Live & learn.
