Just keep spinning, just keep spinning

I finished spinning Blind Bob's fleece and learned to ply it in class. Here is my very first yarn, in all its glory.
Not too horrible.

Then I bought this giant alien hairball.

Which became this.

And then this. 85 yards of handspun goodness.

It has tiny moments of greatness.

I've been on Etsy and numerous other sites scouting out roving and I found some lovelies that I just couldn't live without. Here's a glimpse of what I got.

I am noticing a trend. I never go for reds & oranges... maybe it's the lack of fall colors this year but for some reason I find these irresistible!

And now for my big news; I ordered a Louet S10 spinning wheel today! WHEEE!
I have one more week of spinning class and then I have to give the wheel I'm using back and just thinking about it was making me twitch, so I took the plunge & ordered one. It's just like the one I'm renting. Only mine! It should be here next week.

For the final class we are going to spin this gorgeous silk and mohair. The silk is so soft that you can hardly feel it when you touch it. Really!
We carded and spun a bit of the locks (from Jonquil the sheep) yesterday and I really enjoyed spinning from a rolag. I hope I don't decide I need hand carders next. (But I might.)

I'm going to check back in to see the alpacas that you bring in to graze in the yard to have fiber handy. :)
