The Heritage Race

A friend just sent these pics of us during the Heritage Race on June 21 of this year. I'm not exactly sure when this was taken because there aren't any other boats in the shot, but I think it was snapped just before we crossed the starting line.

Here I'm cranking the winch to adjust the mainsail, Dave is steering and our friend John is behind me, in the blue shirt. John rarely races his own boat so he crews with us. I love it when John joins us because he always takes my side when Dave and I argue about tactics. And that makes me very, very happy!

We came in 4th in our division for this race. [Because 1. we had to tack off course to prevent someone from hitting us (as it was, he missed us by mere inches!) and 2. Dave's two tactical errors. (Just ask John!)]
