New and improved. (Honest!)

I haven't blogged in a few weeks; first Nelson was home for spring break, then Dave got the flu, and I was busy cleaning, organizing, and updating my craft room. I have proof... wanna see?

I set my tripod in the center of the room and snapped successive shots all around the room. A wide angle lense would have helped, but this will give you an idea of how it looks.

No, I won't show you the whole inside of the closet. It's clean & tidy, but full of wool. And I do mean FULL!

A new Ikea Smadal bookshelf and an equally new Vika Artur trestle that I turned into a yarn winding station. (I posted this on Ravelry and had an overwhelming response. Several people ran out to buy one to use for this very purpose.)

I'm going to give the brown stool seats a fresh coat of paint and use the center color on each paint chip. That should brighten things up a bit. I need to find something to hang on the wall above this table, but I'm not sure what I want. I was thinking of enlarging one of my photos into a poster, but I'm not sold on the idea. Or I could frame some pages out of the 1960's craft magazines that I have stashed in the closet. There are some pretty 'mod' knitting patterns in there!

Every craft room needs a Leg Magic. Yes I use it, and yes it works!

The window - just to keep the flow of the room going.

The top of my spinning wheel, a Verilux full spectrum light, and my new Ikea Smadal cabinet. That large broken (courtesy of my cat Nutmeg) vase in the corner holds alpaca fleece that I need to wash.

And that completes a full circle of the room. Now for the deets:

The bookshelf stores all my knitting supplies. Needles, nostepinne, & niddy noddy on the top, circs, notions, dpns, & interchangeables on the first shelf, magazines & spinning samples on the second, scale and miscellaneous other items on the bottom. The basket on the left holds hand cards & extra spindles for my wheel and the jars to the right (hidden, on the floor) hold fiber.

Let's open the doors to get a better look.

The cabinet holds books, spinning magazines, glass & foam heads, as well as fiber and ufos which are stored in wonderful little crocheted baskets from Ikea. I love those things! Oh yeah, and my conch horn. Everyone should have a conch horn.

I gave this old chair some new fabric that ties all the brown, green, and turquoise in the room together.

And I even installed a new light fixture! It's the Ikea Jala. So functional and bright - I love it!

Ta-da! All organized! Now I just need to knit down some of that stash... and I should be able to do it now that I can find everything. It feels so good to have an organized space! I just want to go up there, turn on some jazz, and create.

I LOVE it Carol! I'm glad you pm'ed me to let me know these were up! I love your spinning chair, I think you should leave the brown seats on the stools and paint the white parts those funky colors, they'd match! We're moving in a few weeks and I can't WAIT to do a craft room ,though I certainly don't have as much supply as you (lucky!)

I would LOVE to help! I am much better at organizing other people's stuff than I am my own. Go figure.

What a wonderful craftroom. I am honestly jealous. So far you have the best craft room I've ever seen.
