When good gnomes go bad

I found the cutest thing at Hobby Lobby today! Check out this garden gnome.

While the other gnomes were pushing wheel barrows, hauling mushrooms, or toting garden tools, this little guy was sitting on his rump, picking his ear and smoking a pipe. He was one of a kind and I found him hidden under a display of more studious, hard working gnomes. I don't know if the others ganged up on him or if he was allowed to relax because he was the HGIC (Head Gnome In Charge), but either way at 50% off I couldn't live without him. I am temporarily calling him 'The Bad Habit Gnome' until I can come up with an appropriate name.

Not everyone is happy about my new buddy.

"Let's get one thing straight, Mister. This is MY window!"

Will you look at that contempt in her eyes? It's a good thing I moved him or he might have lost an ear!

Anegada is in the water (YAY!) and Dave and I spent the weekend loading her up with gear. The refrigerator isn't working because the power switch broke, and my head (boat toilet) isn't pumping water, but we got everything else working and the club is supposed to get on those repairs this week. Now if the weather cooperates we'll be all set. We about froze our butts off last weekend and the NOAA weather report is calling for the same next weekend. But hopefully that will change for the better.

If you have any Naughty Gnome name suggestions please leave 'em in the comments. And be sure to leave your name or initials, too, so I know who's commenting. Thanks!

I've been calling him "Nigel the Naughty Gnome" even though I was saving the name Nigel for my next kitty, the baby Siamese that I hope to adopt someday. But I'll probably decide future-kitty doesn't look like a Nigel anyway. ;-)
