The Blizzard of '08

When we hear the weathermen referring to this snowstorm as The Blizzard of '08, Dave and I snicker a little 'cause we vividly remember The Great Blizzard of '78 when snow was drifted up to the rooftops and our whole world stopped. So I googled that blizzard to see if I could find out how much snow actually fell, and you know what? It wasn't as much as I thought. According to wikipedia Ohio only got 12.2 inches, which is about where we are now. Suddenly it isn't so funny.

When Dave snow-blowed last night there were 5 inches of snow on the walk. Today there are 12. This shot was taken a half-hour after he snow-blowed for the third time. Yep, it's still coming down.

I think there is a bush under there.

The door leading out to our deck.

Our county is under a level 2 snow emergency, as is most of the state. Thank goodness I was prepared. Making dinner is the most strenuous thing I plan on doing today. And I remembered to start the bread yesterday... yay me!

Max is taking it all in stride. His food dish is full. His heating pad is on. Life is good!
