Tomato update

The cherry tomatoes seem to be growing at a painstakingly slow rate, but what do I know? I've never grown tomatoes before. I've thinned and pruned them according to the instructions, kept them watered and fertilized and today I had to raise the lights up a click. They sure are sturdy looking plants!


And look at this... buds!


Now I just have to keep them trimmed and when the flowers open I need to shake the plants so they'll pollinate. After that, tomatoes should start to appear. The instructions say I can begin harvesting in 10-12 weeks, which would be May 19 - June 2nd. Man,that seems like a long time to wait for such a tiny tomato! I wonder how long it takes to grow a watermelon, and if I could grow one in my AeroGarden. Wouldn't THAT be impressive?!!!

I started knitting a French Market Bag with some Patons SWS I had in my stash. Yes, I know there are several WIPs on the sidebar already. Don't look at me like that.
