A room of my own

For several years I've stored all of my yarn & knitting supplies in a small closet downstairs, and that worked well because I did the majority of my knitting in the living room so my supplies were readily available. But now that I'm spinning I definitely need more room. So I cleaned out the spare bedroom upstairs that had become a combination game room / junk storage area. It was not an easy task! There were boxes to sort, piles to move, and I still need to run a few things to the Good Will, but other than that, it's done.

I finished the last of it today including hanging the bulletin board (which was much trickier than it sounds, but I am a perfectionist). I'm really happy with the way the room turned out, especially since I didn't need to buy anything to furnish it. I do want to order a Verilux light though, since the room doesn't have enough light fixtures. Have a look:

Dave helped me carry the old table up from the basement, the small bookshelf was in the guest room and now holds books, magazines, and supplies, the drawered cabinet holds knitting needles and accessories, and the coat tree holds my knitting totes and the felted bags I've made.

The closet stores roving on the left, yarn on the right, my sewing machine, patterns, and miscellaneous items. I'm still not sure how to organize it all, but I think smaller, slightly deeper containers for the roving would help.

The game corner is still intact.

I even got in a little spinning today.

This is another Etsy purchase, a Corriedale-Mohair blend in raspberry, teal and golden yellow. I wonder what it will look like after it's plied and knit?
