A non-traditional wedding

my daughter and new son-in-law

They wanted a non-traditional wedding.

We arrived at the little chapel and found it closed with a sign on the door that read "Emergency. Went to the hospital. We will call you!!!"

Frantic calls were made to several nearby churches.

A kind pastor said he would meet us at his church in 15 minutes. He performed a beautiful ceremony while dressed in blue jeans. He was our silver-haired hero.

Dinner at a restaurant followed.

Partway through the meal the Groom's father choked on a piece of meat. We tried the Heimlich maneuver but it did not help. A kind stranger rushed to our aid. He knew exactly what to do and saved the father's life. He was another silver-haired hero.

We spent 3 hours in the emergency room before the father was released to go home.

The Bride & Groom cancelled their room at the Inn and spent their wedding night on an air mattress on their living room floor so the father could have their bed.

All this story needs now is "... and they lived happily ever after."

The End.

Wow! Sounds like a memorable day to say the least. I hope all is well now and that the story does indeed conclude with "and they lived happily ever after!" :)

Sounds like a perfect story for a movie. Glad everything turned out well.
