Cold?

I have been sick. A nasty germ latched onto me and won't let go. I am in day 11 of my battle and I am finally overpowering it with a little help from my friends Puffs, Motrin, Sudafed, and Emer'gen-C. And my good friend Gail emailed me some delicious get-well soup (not chicken, since I'm a veggie).

Thanks, Bud!

We spent the weekend at the boat - my first time aboard this spring, and the weather was gorgeous. The boys participated in the Run For Fun sailboat race on Saturday. There was absolutely no wind, so they sat there bobbing up and down, spinning in circles, and even going backwards at one point, yet managed to come in FIRST PLACE in their division! This is the first race where just the two of them have sailed alone, and they came in first! What a great father-son moment! Dave is talking about framing the flag it's so special, and I would proudly hang it on the wall. {note: I didn't have my camera with me, but took a photo of the flag with my camera phone. I tried to email the pic from the phone to my email addy, but it isn't working...}

We're going to the Academic Achievement Awards event at the school tonight. Nelson is receiving something, but I'm not sure what. {I am such a good parent! Always on top of things...} Brian Unger will be there to receive the 2005 ACE Hall of Achievement Award which is given each year to "GHS alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions." Thankfully the entire thing will only last 75 minutes, since finals begin tomorrow and they know the kids need to be home to study.

Not much knitting here in germville last week, but I did start a bear for the Mother Bear Project. The knitting is coming along nicely, it's the 'sewing-up' that concerns me. I'm already trying to visualize how I can knit this in the round.

If those black clouds weren't on the horizon I'd take the Midget for a spin. I've only had her out twice this season. I've been trying to think of a good name for her but haven't come up with one yet.

How can so much fun be packed into such an itty bitty car?

Glad you liked the soup, Skipper. (Doesn't look like you opened the can...) I say 'Way to go!' on the win. Are these the races you had placed 2nd in before? Gosh, I hope you feel better soon! I shall check back to see the pictures of a proud Nelson accepting his rewards - And yes, you ARE a good mom, we are talking about an Award Winning Son ~ as well as a Race Winning Son! :)
