Spinner's knee

I was spinning for so long today that I developed a limp. I googled 'spinner's limp' and came up with a Yarn Harlot entry, so I guess I'm not the only one who has overdone it. I was listening to an audio book on my iPod and the time just flew. I don't have any idea how long I was upstairs but it was starting to get dark out, so I quit.

This is Potluck Roving from Village Spinning and Weaving in the Night Sky colorway. It's wool with a little mohair added and it was so densely compacted that I had to do a lot of predrafting. The color is better in the first pic.

I'm still working on the first 4oz. I'm guessing there's an ounce left in the bowl.

Max's heating pad stopped working. I wondered why he kept curling up on my lap, since he's never been one to do that. So I checked and sure enough, his bed was cold. I ordered a new one but it won't be here till the end of the week. Poor little guy. With his arthritis and the hip surgery he's endured, he really needs a warm place to sleep. He's been sneezing a lot today, too. Hope he's not catching a cold.
ACHOO!
